A NOTE TO OUR READERS
Dear Readers,
You’re about to get to know several members of the Rand City Police Department, beginning with the Ocean Street Precinct, through the Cops & Lovers book series from Brattle Street Press.
Each book cracks open the lives of the men at Ocean Street with a special focus on Mike Donovan, a five-year veteran who is facing for the first time that he is a gay man. He recognizes quickly that he is not alone in that regard on the Rand City force. Over time, Donovan's leadership on several high-profile cases delivers him to a new level in his career, yet his personal challenges will always require extra courage and will inspire readers.
With the help of all of these characters, we are writing the sort of books we would like to read ourselves. Each of us on this project is gay with an interest in police work and the unique challenges to gay men who have chosen careers that place them in less conventional gay environments. We are excited to bring a healthy dose of lusty sexual action to these stories, which reflects the vitality of our characters, not to mention yours and ours.
Cops & Lovers Series
will grow to 10 books
Ten books are outlined for the Cops & Lovers series, with three different authors working on them simultaneously. Audience demand will direct how quickly the series develops, though we expect to have all ten available within 12 months.
We invite your thoughts on these stories (editorial@brattlestreetpress.com) and thank you for making these books a part of your lives.
